Islay Whisky Tour
The Whisky Island
Single malt? Blended malt? Peaty malt?
The Isle of Islay (eye-la) is known as the whisky island due to its ever-growing amount of scotch whisky distilleries. Not only is Islay famous for the number of distilleries, but the whisky is also famous for its notoriously peaty, smokey taste which you either love or hate! For those who love it, this island is paradise and for those who hate it then you'll be amazed at the breathtaking scenery Islay has to offer and don't worry we won't leave your tastebuds out! The seafood on Islay can be regarded as some of the best in Scotland and when you eat on this island you know it's as fresh as can be. Come see the Queen of The Hebrides!
Day 1: Ferry
This two-day tour starts on the Scottish mainland and travelling to the Isle of Islay. The journey there is picturesque with many places to stop and take photos of the scenery. After we get the ferry to Islay we will travel to your home for the night. From here you can go out for food or any local bars to listen to live music or request your guide to take you for a drive around the island. We keep this flexible as you may be tired after all the travelling.
Day 2: Whisky Time
Day two starts early at 9am where we will head to the first distillery where you will get a tour. From here it is up to you how many distilleries you want to visit, many offer small free samples or quick tastings without the need for a tour. In a day you can see up to 6 distilleries and include 2 tours in that, we leave that up to you to decide and we will book whatever you think suits you best. We will then get the last ferry back to the mainland where we will drop you off where ever suits you.
